Shora is the Afghani word describing a co-operative business. Local women run all the women's shoras that produce the work sold here. Fahima has made it possible for them to organize in central locations. She has helped by building or locating space for them to work and learn new skills. She has helped find skilled workers to train the women in the crafts and business.

These shoras produce all of the jewelry, pillow covers, scarves, embroidered, blouses, handbags on this website.

Earrings are made by the Khair Khana shora in northern Kabul. The bracelets are made by the Istalif shora in northern Kabul.

Two different shoras make the embroidered items. Each pillow cover is different.

The embroidered purses are from Herat shora. Each one is different.

All of the rugs offered by Valley Caravan Gallery are unique and one-of-a-kind. The rug you choose on the website is the exact item that will be shipped to you.

Fahima makes an effort to keep the site updated for sold items.
